A New Way To Wake Up

http://www.yankodesign.com/2011/08/10/did-you-smile-today/

Yanko Design has created an innovative new way to wake up, in The Smile Alarm Clock. It has face recognition sensors that force the user to give a "bright, sunny smile" in order for the alarm to go off. When the alarm reaches the desired time the owner sets, the alarm sounds until he or she looks into the camera with a full smile; the face recognition technology can tell whether or not the owner is not smiling, half-smiling, or a full smile. The closer one gets to the full smile, the alarm will decrease in noise. Yanko Design created this fun piece of technology to promote waking up in a good mode, as well as smiling more often. According to a study, fake smiling is even better than never smiling, plus it is good for our health and even comes with good luck.
In my opinion, this could be a very successful alarm clock. I find loud, beeping alarm clocks to be quite annoying, not to mention the deluxe alarm clocks that come equipped with bed-shaking abilities. If every student and faculty member at Mercersburg had one of these ingenious toys, just imagine all of the fun, friendliness, and good health that would come from just one smile every morning! What a great idea!
